Mitre 10 Mega Whangarei Bay of Islands Bathtub Racing

This crazy, quirky event is actually very serious fun, and we want you to join in - whether it is as a spectator or a competitor!

So as a spectator is it an action packed day - you can sit on Te Ti Beach amongst the festivities and get a birds eye view of the action as it is close to the shore! Racing starts at 1pm. On shore festivities will include the Mitre 10 Mega Bouncy Castle, giant jenga, beach games, food and more. The festival is fun and quirky - so expect a bit of that through the day!

Bay of Islands Singers

H.M.S. Pinafore and other Musical Treats, presented by the Bay of Islands Singers with Matt Watson (piano) and orchestral ensemble conducted by John Jackets, at the Turner Centre Kerikeri on May 24 at 7.30. Adults $28, students $16.
The choir sings a selection from the wide repertoire which has been performed over the years including songs from opera and musical shows, folksongs and contemporary music.

Then comes a concert performance of the comic operetta H.M.S. Pinafore by Gilbert and Sullivan.

Kerikeri International Piano Competition

The Kerikeri International Piano Competition is New Zealand's only international competition for solo piano. Sixteen outstanding young pianists from around the world will perform at the Turner Centre in Kerikeri before a panel of three international adjudicators for a prize pool of $30,000. As well as the competition rounds, there are talks, master classes, an adjudicator's recital, a panel discussion and social events.
